Jully Tan
Dr. Jully Tan received her bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), her master's degree in environmental engineering from UTM, and her PhD from Universiti Malaya in Malaysia.
Dr Jully has more than fourteen years of teaching and leadership experience in engineering education. Dr Jully Tan is currently a senior lecturer and course director in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Monash University Malaysia. As an education-focused academic, she played a significant role in leading the program's curriculum development, design, and accreditation. She actively looks into research and opportunities for promoting professional and competency skills within the engineering profession. She participated in the Safety Champions in Engineering Education 2021 and talked about advancing teaching strategies in the teaching of safety subjects with the use of technological innovations.
Dr Jully is also involved in research that focuses on life cycle assessment and optimization for microalgae production. The area of her research interest includes the study of different chemical and or manufacturing processes, process selection analysis, life cycle assessment, and life cycle optimization, which focuses on environmental impacts (carbon footprint, water footprint, energy footprint, etc.) contributed by different process technologies.
