A global safety evidence community

The Global Safety Evidence Centre exists to ensure that evidence is created with and for people who can and want to use it to improve safety outcomes. We embed stakeholder needs and interests at the heart of everything we do, so the evidence we create and collate is relevant, practical, and communicated in ways that make sense to its users.

Through the Centre, we aim to build a global safety evidence community by nurturing strong relationships and collaborations between practitioners, policymakers, and researchers, which will generate high‑quality evidence, strengthen research skills, and support the use of evidence to improve safety outcomes.

We convene, guide, and mobilise people around safety evidence.

How we work with partners

We work collaboratively across the evidence lifecycle - from identifying real‑world safety challenges to using evidence in practice and policy.

We partner with others to:

  • Shape evidence priorities, ensuring research responds to real needs and gaps
  • Create and collate high‑quality evidence, grounded in rigorous methods and practice‑based insight
  • Provide technical input at crucial stages, through consultation, peer review, and expert advice
  • Translate and share evidence, so it is accessible, actionable, and trusted
  • Support evidence use, embedding findings into policy and practice

Who we work with

We work with partners across the global safety evidence ecosystem, including:

  • Grant holders and research teams funded through our funding opportunities, who create and collate evidence on global safety
  • Experts (topic and/or methodological) and practitioners who contribute their knowledge through project consultation groups
  • Peer reviewers and advisors who help ensure our work meets high standards of quality, credibility, and practical usefulness

Ways to get involved

If you see a topic that the Centre is working on that aligns with your interests, or if you have expertise, evidence, or practice‑based insight to contribute, we would welcome hearing from you.

We encourage researchers, practitioners, policymakers and funders to use and reference evidence from the Evidence Library in their work, helping to strengthen evidence-informed decision-making and improve safety outcomes globally. Our Evidence Library brings together high-quality, publicly accessible evidence to support learning, policy and practice.

Safe Work

Safe work is one of the Centre's research priorities; with this programme we seek to contribute to the evidence base on promoting safe working environments.
