José Ignacio Latorre, Director, Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) and Provost’s Chair Professor, National University of Singapore

José Ignacio Latorre is Director of the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) and Professor in the Department of Physics at the National University of Singapore (NUS). A leading figure in particle physics and quantum information, José Ignacio moved to Singapore in 2020 from the University of Barcelona, where he had been heading an effort to build the first quantum processor in Spain. He is a strong supporter of the arts. His past projects include being an advisor for the exhibition Quantum held in 2019 at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona in Spain and authoring the play ELIZA that was staged at the NUS Centre for the Arts in February 2022.
