The Maritime Just Transition Taskforce
Seafarers must be central to any solution as the world navigates towards cleaner shipping and full decarbonisation comes ever nearer.
Safety across the maritime system is a key consideration in building a sustainable ocean.
people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity for their livelihoods.
Globally, we all rely on the ocean to provide food, energy, and the transit of goods yet working at sea remains one of most dangerous occupations in the world.
Safety of people working to provide services both at sea and on land is paramount. We work to create safer solutions to the challenges affecting those working in the maritime sector, most notably decarbonisation, digitalisation and the impacts of climate change.
Three billion people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity for their livelihoods according to the United Nations. It is important they are involved in what happens to protect that environment.
At Lloyd's Register Foundation, we want to make certain all voices are heard in discussions to drive interventions around risks in the new challenges and opportunities in maritime driven by changing climate, energy transition and technological innovation.
