About this event
This summer, the LRF Heritage and Education Centre are holding a series of FREE summer lectures that delve deeper into the story and history of the Lloyd's Register. These talks form part of a new programme of events to get more people engaged with our archive and collections and help fulfil our mission to advance education for the benefit of society.
Formed in 1882, the year the Ashes began, the Cricket Club brought great pride and loyalty from the staff at Lloyd's Register. The team would play matches against clubs from across the country and saw great success. Using the wealth of material in our archives, this lecture will explore the history of the LR Cricket Club from the people who played to the club's wider achievements.
There will be a drinks reception from 17.30 with the lecture beginning at 18.00, finishing around 19.30. There are limited tickets available so be sure to reserve your space early!
