Collaboration in programme to support data-centric engineering.

The Alan Turing Institute (ATI) and Lloyd’s Register Foundation are inviting the academic community, industry, and research bodies in the UK and internationally to express interest in collaborating in a programme to support data-centric engineering.

Please contact the Programme Manager, Darren Grey (dgrey@turing.ac.uk +44 203 862 3309), for an informal discussion.  Applications to this first call will be led by current ATI researchers but collaborators from anywhere are welcomed. Closing date was 14 August but the ATI welcome interest at any time.

In 2014, the Foundation published the Foresight review of big data that describes how big data can bring the societal benefits that are at the heart of our mission, enhancing safety by fundamentally changing the design, manufacturing, maintenance and decommissioning processes for complex infrastructures and machinery. We also announced a grant offer of £10 million over five years to support research by the ATI, the UK’s National Institute for Data Science, on engineering applications of big data. The Foundation is now working with the ATI on the data-centric engineering programme.
