Here is our latest newsletter from the Foundation. Of particular note this month that I'd like to highlight is the launch of our new 100A1 Ambassadors programme. It marks a big step for us towards assembling a global network of friends, stakeholders and beneficiaries who can help us extend the mission of the Foundation and our global reach. This is just the beginning so keep abreast of future updates via our website. It's a busy period in the Foundation with our year-end approaching, so I'm looking forward to keeping you posted in future newsletters on our future priorities and plan.

100A1 Ambassadors
The Foundation has launched an ambassador programme, 100A1 Ambassador. As a global charity committed to enhancing the safety of life and property and advancing public education, our aim through the ambassador programme is to build an international network of friends, stakeholders and beneficiaries who are willing to promote the mission of the Foundation and its causes. The Foundation’s website will soon have a 100A1 Ambassador page where you will be able to see appointments to the programme. Read more and see the press release here.
Open House London
The Lloyd's Register Foundation Heritage & Education Centre (HEC) is excited to announce that 71 Fenchurch Street, London will be open to the public in this year's Open House London event on Saturday 16 September. Both the Collcutt and Rogers buildings will be open from 10:00-17:00 (last entry at 16:30). Admission is free for all and offers a fascinating insight into historic and contemporary architecture. For previous Open House London events, 71 Fenchurch Street has attracted a diverse range of visitors from architecture enthusiasts to maritime researchers. So much so that in 2015, over 2,000 people visited both buildings.
HELMEPA Awareness Campaign
HELMEPA's public awareness campaign initiative is supported by the Foundation and has already visited 23 Greek towns and cities since 2011, involving more than 24,000 students and 1,700 teachers. Besides raising awareness among schoolchildren and teachers on the themes of the campaign, the aim of this initiative is also to inspire children to learn more about science, engineering and new technologies in the service of the environment and humanity. New research team driving data-centric engineering
The Alan Turing Institute has appointed a new team of leading researchers to drive research and innovation on data-centric engineering, funded by the Foundation. The seven research leads, working with Director Mark Girolami, are forming projects with industry tackling engineering challenges with the latest data science solutions. Opportunities are open now to engage with the programme and its grand challenges in data-centric engineering.
Joint Research Centre for the safety of nuclear energy
Mike Fitzpatrick from Coventry University, who is part of a Foundation-funded consortium led by Lancaster University, wrote an article for The Conversation titled, Nuclear power is set to get a lot safer (and cheaper) – here’s why. The Foundation also funds the science editor Stephen Harris at The Conversation. Stephen covers science, technology and health.

Our Lives in Data
Until end August 2017: launched in July 2016, putting the current total number of visitors to the exhibition at around 700,000 people from across the globe. The Science Museum, London UK, exhibition runs until the end of August 2017. For more information see here.

21-22 June: The National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) is hosting its annual conference on the 21-22 June 2017 at TWI facilities, Cambridge, UK. See here for registration.
