NSIRC has announced the winners of their first international open research call with 12 successful proposals being sponsored by the Foundation. The selected research topics will contribute to enhancing the structural integrity and systems performance of property at sea, on land and in the air. Congratulations to all the successful applicants and we look forward to welcoming the new PhD students later in the year.
The quality of proposals was high and when the next NSIRC call is opened later in 2016 we look forward to seeing the number of applications increase, particularly from universities around the globe.
Every PhD student at NSIRC is assigned an industrial mentor by the Foundation. The mentors are part of the supervisory team providing focus to the research ensuring that it leads towards an outcome that enhances safety for the benefit of the community. In addition the mentors provide a faster route to impact.
