Overview

Engineering X is launching the Global Engineering Capability Review 2025 (GECR) this summer. Developed by the Royal Academy of Engineering and Lloyd's Register Foundation, with support from S&P Global Market Intelligence, this report presents a new framework for understanding engineering capacity and capability across 115 countries.

Grounded in a systems-based approach, it highlights the interdependence of diverse stakeholders, institutions, and resources in shaping safe and effective engineering outcomes. At the centre of the GECR is the Engineering Capacity Index (ECI): a unique dataset spanning ten capacity areas and three stakeholder groups.

The GECR serves as a diagnostic tool to inform policy, investment, and collaboration within engineering ecosystems worldwide.

To learn more about the GECR 2025, and how it can identify where the most effective interventions can be used to build capacity for a safer world, join the launch webinar on Thursday 24th July, 12:30 to 14:00 BST.
