What does it mean to engineer a safer world? Our new film explores why safety and understanding risk matters, and how Lloyd's Register Foundation works with others to help protect people from harm.

Depending on where you live, the work you do, and the risks you face, people's perceptions and experiences of safety vary greatly. Yet one thing remains universal: everyone deserves to be protected from harm.

This short film featuring colleagues from across Lloyd's Register Foundation explores why safety matters, what puts people at risk, and how we are working with global partners to build the knowledge, evidence and solutions needed to make lives safer around the world. 

The film highlights the many factors that influence safety. “If we know what puts people at risk, we can find out what works to make them safer,” explains Ruth Boumhprey, Chief Executive, Lloyd’s Register Foundation.
