About Aaron

Aaron is a research scientist with over 15 years of experience working with big data to derive insight and deliver impact across various sectors. Since joining Lloyd’s Register Foundation in 2021 Aaron has led the analysis of the World Risk Poll, a unique global survey on public perceptions and experience of risk and safety. Aaron is a proponent of making data openly available and to all, regardless of their level of technical expertise, as a means of increasing transparency and building trust when reporting on complex subjects.

Prior to the Foundation, Aaron split his career between academia and industry. In the former he was a medical researcher with a major focus on therapy development for people with cystic fibrosis, co-authoring nearly 100 papers, with over 20 as first author following completion of his PhD. In the latter, Aaron has mainly worked in the education start-up and scale-up space, using data analytics to inform decision making and foster growth.
